Like the other buildings remaining on the former Avon-Areal industrial site, former Production Hall 3 was built in the 1960s and required a customised solution to sustainably move forward into the future. This was particularly true for the interior design of the two-storey production hall. At 2,700 m2 and 10 m high, the upper floor was to be transformed into a contemporary, multi-function office landscape.

In detail.
Important cornerstones for the planning were set by the requirements for inspiring room layouts, cost efficiency and soundproofing, as well as a tight schedule. In order to meet these criteria, customised office islands designed as room-in-room systems, with a 5 by 5 metre footprint and a height of 3 metres, were specially developed.
A total of three office islands were installed across the floor. Each offers six steel constructed offices or meeting rooms arranged around an internal atrium. The power supply to the office islands was provided via specially installed cavity floors.
To divide the offices and meeting rooms, glass partition walls from System 2000 were used. These combine excellent sound insulation with high transparency, ensuring the space is suffused with light. A total of 274 linear metres of glass walls were installed.
The ceilings of the office islands are constructed from 160 mm thick laminated wood, allowing them to be accessed via a wide staircase and used as lounge areas. There are additional office spaces and call cubicles running along the façade side of the building.
