Sparkasse
Nürnberg

Sparkasse Nürnberg has comprehensively renovated its premises in Lorenzer Straße, dating back to 1975. In addition to an extensive restoration of the building’s façade, new heating and ventilation and the implementation of fire protection and noise insulation in keeping with today’s requirements, the bank also developed a flexible, future-oriented office design in cooperation with Baum-Kappler, a local architecture firm.

In detail.

The System T with its flush-fit double-glazing makes an important contribution to both transparency and the feeling of well-being.

With regard to the interior design, the architects focussed on a reserved, reduced design which conveys both elegance and spaciousness. The walls, ceilings and furnishings are white. Oak veneer surfaces on the door leaves, upper sections of the doors, hall flooring and stairs lend a feeling of warmth. The multiplex substructure of System T is covered with the same oak veneer, whereby the veneer runs horizontally on the doors and vertically on the posts, creating an attractive contrast.

Thanks to its wooden construction and minimalistic design, System T complements the interior design perfectly. Furthermore, the partition wall system with flush-fit glazing ensures that daylight falls even into the rear of rooms. Used as the hall partition in conference rooms and in the offices belonging to members of the board, it meets the required sound insulation value of 44 dB. The open-plan kitchens were also partitioned using System T, allowing a view in and out of the room and thus promoting spontaneous communication.
