Plan International is an internationally active aid organisation which fights for the chances and rights of children. Their headquarters has now been extended with the "Haus der Patenschaften" (House of Patronage) designed by schneider+schumacher. The new build for the "Hilfe mit Plan" (Aid with a Plan) foundation holds a prominent urban position on the corner of Hamburg's Bramfelder Straße and Drosselstraße, which is further accentuated by the rounded shape of the building. Besides flexible office and meeting rooms, the building's ground floor offers a sales area whilst the upper floor houses a visitor and conference zone. Here, the patrons and backers are immortalised on a representative wall.

In detail.
The combination of open and closed office areas was achieved with glass walls and room-in-room systems from Strähle. In the meeting zones of the upper floor, polygonal System 3400 all-glass walls trace the shape of the building. In the open-space areas, employees have access to sound-insulated Kubus installations which provide a pleasant retreat.
Employees can make phone calls in the compact Kubus I Micro installation without disrupting fellow colleagues in the adjacent office areas. Meanwhile, the Kubus I Dialog is intended to be used for one-to-one meetings or video conferences.
On each floor, the two room-in-room systems either feature light or dark wooden surface variants and thus also make for striking design features. The Kubus systems feature an integrated ventilation system and LED ceiling lights as well as USB connections.
Open, transparent and colourful office worlds were created which spatially embody the values of the Plan International aid organisation. Overseeing the construction project, the "Hilfe mit Plan" foundation opted for a sustainable and living new build which is ready for the future.
