DGNB
Head Office
Stuttgart
Bringing sustainable construction to life – that is the aim of the DGNB’s premises at Caleido on Tübinger Straße in Stuttgart. With the support of around 30 member companies, the DGNB office was converted into a living showroom for sustainable construction in July 2014. The premises have become a meeting place for the association’s community, with the aim of making the benefits of a sustainably planned and built space tangible for visitors and staff on site. The DGNB-certified Caleido building provides the ideal setting for this. A thoughtful design of the interiors in line with DGNB principles – such as user comfort, environmental sustainability and life-cycle assessment – complements the sustainable building approach.
We are delighted that we were able to be part of this project with our products. The Strähle partition systems were already in place in the office space. The sustainability of the refurbishment was demonstrated by the design concept behind the modular partition system, which allows the elements to be reused flexibly. Thanks to careful planning, it was possible to reassemble all the existing partitions and reinstall them in different locations within the office space. New material had to be added only in isolated cases and on a very small scale.
Two room-within-a-room systems by Strähle were added. The aim was to create two additional meeting rooms for four people, as well as a quiet space for one person to make phone calls and hold video conferences.
