ÖATMC, Wien

The Austrian Automobile, Motoring and Touring Association, abbreviated as ÖAMTC, set up its new head office in the industrialised district of Erdberg. The requirements of the new building were many and varied. From workshops and customer reception, to administration and even a helipad on the roof, the headquarters combine all the necessary functions threaded by the architects around a vertical axis. The focus was on interaction and the themes of mobility, efficiency and speed.

The architecture firm Pichler & Traupmann implemented the concept with open, transparent, staff-oriented spatial conditions. Partition wall systems from Strähle with integrated absorbers and a variety of coloured textiles for excellent acoustics were used in the open areas. This created a zoning of the workplaces and improved the acoustics for the staff. Alternating open and closed work areas enable a wide variety of uses for the office space.

Privacy is ensured with sound-absorbing partition walls. Conversations with customers can be held in the integrated retreat areas.

Our Austrian partner Inside oversaw the project locally, from project management to manufacture at the Guntramsdorf facility near Vienna.
